Essential Facets of Imagine Wesley’s Chinese Language Program

• All Kindergarten through 4th grade Primary School Students receive lessons in Chinese Mandarin 45 minutes 4 days per week.

• All 5th through 8th grade Middle School Students also receive lessons in Chinese Mandarin 45 minutes 4 days per week.

• All of Imagine Wesley’s Chinese teachers are native born Chinese (or studied in a Chinese University). All are fluent in both English and Mandarin.

• Imagine Wesley teaches the standard Mandarin dialect of the People’s Republic of China known as Putonghua.

• Imagine Wesley teaches the standard Simplified Character writing method and utilizes the Pinyin Romanticized phonetic spelling system.

• Research indicates that Western students who learn an Asian or Slavic language develop advanced cognitive processing skills by learning to think in two different language systems.
